Before you drive
- Access
- Ape Cave uses seasonal timed entry, the Seattle Underground is guided only, and the steam plant opens on scheduled days. Check each file before committing the order.
- Safety
- Public trailheads only for the folklore stop. The lava tube is cold, dark, and rough. Carry more than one light source.
- Season
- No seasonal limit is recorded for the route as a whole. Individual stops may be seasonal; each file says so.
- Distances and times
- The Atlas does not publish drive distances or times. Open the route from your road file in a current mapping provider for live estimates. Traffic, weather, closures, and operating hours change.
